THERAPY FOR WHEN YOU DON’T FEEL LIKE YOURSELF
WHAT BRINGS PEOPLE TO THERAPY?
Sometimes it's not just stress. It's the weight of carrying too much for too long.
You've spent so much time meeting expectations, taking care of others, or pushing through challenges that you've lost touch with what you need, what matters to you, and how you want to move through the world.
Holistic therapy can bring clarity to what's beneath these experiences, support healing at the root of recurring patterns, and create meaningful change in how you relate to yourself and your life.
-
You're constantly giving to others, meeting expectations, and carrying responsibilities, but rarely feel like you have space to rest. What once felt manageable now feels overwhelming, and you're beginning to realize that pushing through isn't working anymore.
-
Navigating the space between personal needs, cultural values, family expectations, and your own sense of self can feel exhausting, confusing, and isolating.
-
When your mind is always on, it can become difficult to feel present, rested, or at ease.
Together, we'll explore what's contributing to the anxiety and create new ways of responding that feel more supportive and sustainable.
-
Career changes, relationship shifts, parenthood, grief, personal growth, and other significant life events can leave us questioning who we are and what comes next. Therapy can provide support through periods of uncertainty and change.
-
Whether you're struggling with communication, people-pleasing, conflict, or recurring relationship patterns, therapy can help you better understand yourself and create healthier, more fulfilling connections.
-
Past experiences can continue to shape the way we think, feel, relate to others, and move through the world.
Therapy provides a supportive space to process these experiences, understand their impact, and move toward healing at a pace that feels right for you.
-
You may have accomplished many of the things you once hoped for and still find yourself feeling disconnected, unfulfilled, or unsure of what you truly want. Therapy can help you reconnect with yourself, your values, and the life you're creating.
THROUGH OUR WORK TOGETHER, YOU CAN BEGIN TO
Feel more connected to yourself and your inner wisdom

Navigate life transitions with greater confidence and clarity
Reconnect with your needs, values, and sense of purpose
Develop a deeper awareness of the connection between mind and body

Build healthier boundaries without carrying overwhelming guilt
Move through life with greater intention and self-trust
MEET RHODA LALOG
FILIPINA-CANADIAN THERAPIST
Rather than focusing on what's "wrong" with you, we'll explore what has happened to you, what has helped you survive, and what may no longer be serving you today.
As a Filipina-Canadian therapist and second-generation immigrant, I can relate to the complexity of navigating multiple cultures, expectations, identities, and responsibilities.
Many of my clients come to therapy feeling exhausted from carrying responsibilities that others don't see. They've spent years taking care of everyone else, meeting expectations, and pushing through challenges while quietly losing touch with themselves.
My role isn't to tell you who to be or what decisions to make; it’s to help you better understand yourself, make sense of the patterns shaping your experiences, and create space for healing, self-trust, and meaningful change.
MY APPROACH
HOLISTIC THERAPY THAT HONOURS YOUR STORY
Different approaches help us access different parts of your experience. Some focus on thoughts and emotions, while others bring clarity to patterns held in the body, deepen self-awareness, or explore questions of meaning, identity, and personal growth.
Depending on your needs, our work together may include the following approaches:
-
Internal Family Systems helps us understand the different parts of ourselves that carry emotions, beliefs, protective patterns, and past experiences. Through this work, we can develop greater self-awareness, self-compassion, and healing.
-
A trauma-informed approach recognizes that many of our struggles are adaptive responses to past experiences. This work prioritizes safety, collaboration, and healing at a pace that feels supportive and sustainable.
-
Our experiences are not only held in our thoughts, but often within the body as well. Somatic approaches help build awareness of physical sensations, nervous system responses, and patterns that may be contributing to stress, overwhelm, or disconnection.
-
Mindfulness practices support greater awareness of thoughts, emotions, and experiences without judgment. These approaches can help cultivate presence, emotional regulation, and a deeper connection to yourself.
-
Focusing helps clients develop a deeper relationship with their inner experience by gently exploring emotions, sensations, and intuitive knowing that may be difficult to access through thinking alone.
-
Drawing from contemplative traditions and personal reflection practices, therapy may include exploring meaning, purpose, values, and connection as part of the healing process when aligned with your goals and interests.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Whether you're new to therapy or returning after some time away, we'll move at a pace that feels supportive, collaborative, and sustainable.
01. Consultation
We’ll begin with a 20-minute consultation to discuss what’s bringing you to therapy, what you’re hoping to gain from the process, and whether we are a good fit to work together.
This is an opportunity for you to ask questions about my approach and get a sense of what it’s like to work together.
02. Intake Session
If you decide to move forward, we'll schedule a 75-minute intake session. This extended session gives us an opportunity to explore your story in depth, including your relationships, cultural background, life experiences, current challenges, and goals for therapy.
Together, we'll begin understanding the patterns shaping your experience and exploring what needs attention now.
03. Ongoing Therapy
Following your intake session, therapy sessions are typically 60 minutes in length and scheduled based on your needs and preferences.
Many clients find it helpful to meet weekly or bi-weekly initially, while others prefer a different pace. Together, we'll determine what feels most supportive and sustainable for you.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-
That's completely okay. Many of the people I work with are attending therapy for the very first time.
It's normal to feel unsure, nervous, or even a little intimidated if you don't know what to expect. You don't need to have everything figured out before you begin. We simply start where you are.
My role is to help guide the process and create a space where you feel comfortable exploring what's brought you to therapy at a pace that feels right for you.
-
Finding the right therapist is one of the most important factors in a successful therapy experience.
A good fit means you feel comfortable, understood, respected, and supported enough to explore the things that matter most to you.
One way to determine fit is through our complimentary consultation. This gives us an opportunity to get to know one another, discuss what you're looking for support with, and explore whether my approach aligns with your needs and goals.
-
Therapy is not about having the "right" thing to talk about.
You're encouraged to bring whatever feels most present in your life, whether that's a specific challenge, relationship, situation, emotion, or recurring pattern.
Together, we'll explore your experiences with curiosity and compassion, helping you better understand yourself and develop new ways of relating to life's challenges.

Many clients find it helpful to meet weekly or bi-weekly at the beginning of therapy to build momentum and establish a strong therapeutic relationship.
As you begin to gain clarity and experience meaningful change, sessions may naturally become less frequent.
Together, we'll determine a schedule that feels supportive, sustainable, and aligned with your needs.
-
Every person comes to therapy with different experiences, goals, and hopes for change, so there is no set timeline.
Some clients find that a handful of sessions helps them gain clarity around a specific challenge, while others choose to engage in therapy over a longer period of time to explore deeper patterns, heal from past experiences, or navigate ongoing life transitions.
Throughout our work together, we'll regularly check in on your goals and progress to ensure therapy continues to feel supportive and meaningful.
-
My work is grounded in trauma-informed psychotherapy and draws heavily from Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness, meditation, Focusing, somatic awareness, and contemplative practices.
Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach, therapy is tailored to your unique experiences, goals, and needs.
Together, we'll discover what feels most supportive for you and your healing process.
