FOR THE ONES

WHO HAVE BEEN

CARRYING TOO MUCH

FOR TOO LONG

Meet Rhoda Lalog, Registered Psychotherapist and Counselling Therapist.

A holistic therapist grounded in the belief that healing begins when we feel seen, understood, and connected to ourselves.

FILIPINA-CANADIAN THERAPIST AND SECOND-GENERATION IMMIGRANT

AN UNDERSTANDING OF

CULTURE, EXPECTATIONS,

& IDENTITY

As a Filipina-Canadian therapist and second-generation immigrant, I can relate to the complexity of navigating multiple cultures, expectations, and identities.

I understand what it's like to navigate multiple expectations while trying to honour both where you come from and who you're becoming.

I believe healing happens when we feel seen, understood, and accepted, not when we're trying to become someone else.

WHAT CONTINUES TO INSPIRE MY WORK

One of the greatest privileges of this work is witnessing what becomes possible when people begin relating to themselves differently.

When self-criticism softens into self-compassion.

When confusion gives way to clarity.

When people begin trusting themselves again.

Watching clients reconnect with their own wisdom, resilience, and capacity for healing continues to inspire my work every day.

Holistic therapist in edmonton with gray hair and a black shirt sits with her eyes closed on a black cushion, while another woman with blonde hair, in a white shirt, gently touches her forehead, in a softly lit room.

Some of the most meaningful moments in therapy happen when people realize they don't need to become someone else to heal. They simply need space to understand themselves differently.

I believe healing involves more than changing thoughts or managing symptoms.

It involves reconnecting with yourself, listening to the wisdom of your body and emotions, and creating space for the parts of you that have been overlooked, protected, or carrying too much for too long.

When we approach ourselves with curiosity rather than judgment, meaningful change becomes possible.
